Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sp. z o. o. (“BOP”, “Company”) in 2023 celebrates its twentieth anniversary. The company was established under a joint venture agreement between Basell Europe Holdings B.V., now owned by LyondellBasell Industries Holdings B.V. (“LyondellBasell”) and PKN ORLEN S.A. (“PKN ORLEN”), in which each of the partners holds 50 percent of shares. BOP is the only manufacturer of polyolefins in Poland and the largest domestic producer of plastics.<\/p>\n

BOP has two world-class plants for the production of polypropylene (“PP”) and polyethylene in P\u0142ock. The annual capacity of these modern factories is 800,000 tons, of which 480,000 tons are PP produced based on the Spheripol<\/em> technology and 320,000 tons – high-density polyethylene (“HDPE”) produced using the Hostalen<\/em> technology. Both technologies are licensed by a LyondellBasell Group company. Since the launch of the installation in P\u0142ock, the Company has produced 45 different grades of PP and 16 different grades of HDPE and introduced them to the market through its fully owned subsidiary, Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sprzeda\u017c Sp. z o.o., which, in addition to materials from P\u0142ock, offers Polish polyolefin converters polymers from LyondellBasell factories produced outside Poland.<\/p>\n
