Michael O’Bert took over the position of the President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sp. z o.o. (BOP) as of 01st August 2022. He was appointed to this function by LyondellBasell Industries Holdings B.V.
Before, for over 40 years Michael O’Bert was working in LyondellBasell. Before he moved to BOP, he was the Global Director Methanol, Acetyls & Ethylene Oxide Derivatives. He has developed his extensive career holding various roles in the area of: refining; olefins; intermediates and derivatives. He has also been taking responsibilities in corporate functions. Michael O’Bert holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from TAMU (Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University), Texas and Master in Business from UH-CLC (University of Houston-Clear Lake), Texas. He comes from the United States.
