Joseph Tanner from LyondellBasell has been named by Basell Europe Holdings B.V. as new President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sp. z o.o. (‘BOP’). As of 15 June 2015 he will replace Thomas Srnka, who has headed up BOP since March 2014.
‘BOP is the largest producer of polyolefins in Poland and has a solid history of developing new products and increasing sales through Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sprzedaż Sp. z o.o. (‘BOPS’). I look forward to working with both BOP’s management team and BOPS’ customers to continue to operate our facilities safely and reliably while strategically growing our business,’ said Joseph Tanner.
Joseph Tanner has over 20 years of experience with LyondellBasell. Prior to this new role, Joseph Tanner was Director Acetyls, Butanediol, Ethylene Oxide/Ethylene Glycol for LyondellBasell. He has gained experience working in production, research, sales, finance, and business management, most of which was related to polymer business. Joseph Tanner holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, USA. He comes from the USA.
Thomas Srnka is now returning to the USA to assume the position of Global SAP Master Data and Work Processes Project Leader with LyondellBasell in Houston.
The other Members of the Management Board of BOP are: Piotr Żehaluk – Operations Director, Päivi Helena Huovinen – Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain Director and Tomasz Szymański – Chief Financial Officer.
